Other Third-party Payment
Processors

This is a brief overview of some of the main
third-party payment processors operating on the Internet.
2CheckOut
This service is becoming increasingly popular. They enable you to accept customer
orders via online checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Diners, JCB and
debit cards with the Visa, Mastercard logo.
Among their offering, 2CheckOut includes an optional
integrated shopping cart and enables you to set up recurring billing (if, for example, you
want to collect periodic membership payments).

Globill Systems
This seems to be a very complete service. The setup seems to be a little more
complicated that some of the others, but they have very good support if you're having
problems. They operate a good affiliate program setup.
In common with PayPal, they enable
recurring billing and, judging from their webmaster discussion boards, a large chunk of
their business comes from sex sites.
You can sign in for a test, which enables you to
look at the entire setup, and, if you want, leave questions on the boards for other
webmasters.
Set Up Fee: $0
Per Transaction Fee: 15.95%
Monthly fee: $0
Reserve: 3% for 6 months

DigiBuy accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and
Discover. One interesting aspect is that you can use DigiBuy in conjunction with
third-party affiliate networks like ClickTrade, Commission Junction and Affiliate
Tracking.
They have two levels of service called 'Essential' and
'Advanced'. The main difference between the two is that on the advanced service you can
customize the look of the order forms, the confirmation page, and so on.
Set Up fee:
Essential service - $29.99 for first item plus $9.99 for each additional item.
Advanced service - $199.99 for first item plus $9.99 for each additional item.

Revecom
With Revecom you can accept Visa, MasterCard, Novus/Discover, American
Express, Diners Club, and JCB cards as well as online checks.
This service looks professional and appears to be rich in
features. They can accept orders in 180 different currencies and they can pay merchants in
22 currencies.
I wrote to Revecom regarding
compatibility with third-party affiliate networks. Their lightening-fast support mailed me
within 10 minutes with this response:
"It is possible as we offer a variety of open
relationship platforms. We have several merchants using 3rd party affiliate systems. You
will need to provide specific information needed for these affiliate systems for us to
confirm compatibility."

More Options...
This is
just the tip of the iceberg -- there are MANY more options out there
that you can use to collect payment for your ebooks. You'll find a
pretty complete list on
this page (together with a few words of warning about the
potential dangers of relying solely on PayPal).
